Department Overview

China Meteorological Administration is a public institution directly under the State Council. Its predecessor was the Central Military Commission Meteorological Bureau, which was established in December 1949. After being changed from a state-owned institution to a state-owned institution in 1994, it was authorized by the State Council to assume government administrative functions for national meteorological work, and to organize and manage national meteorological work. The national meteorological department implements unified leadership, hierarchical management, dual leadership of the meteorological department and the local people's government, and a management system based on the leadership of the meteorological department. China's meteorological undertaking is a science-based and basic social public welfare undertaking. It adheres to the development philosophy of "public meteorology, safety meteorology, and resource meteorology", and adheres to the service tenet of "people-oriented, meticulous and omnipresent".
